Refer, Escalate and ACHieve in non-anterior, non-infectious uveitis (NIU)
In this section you will find materials that will assist you to improve the management of patients with non-anterior NIU. Our evidence-based materials are built on current expert knowledge and are designed to facilitate effective collaborative management of non-anterior NIU.
These template documents provide information on how to refer patients with suspected uveitis to an uveitis specialist.
Recent evidence shows that the success of treatment in non-anterior NIU is strongly associated with timely diagnosis and the introduction of appropriate treatment. In order to prevent permanent, sight-threatening ocular damage in patients with non-anterior NIU, we advocate for immediate referral to specialist care.
Please note that referral pathways may vary by country and locality.
We recommend that these tools are adapted for local use.
